www.lawncare-business.com Having a plan for your lawn care business doesn’t mean you have to have a formal document. Yes, I know formal business plans are important but I think for most guys, me included, I like to think of a plan for my business like a road map when I’m on vacation. You wouldn’t’ go on a trip without knowing how to get there would you? A lawn care business plan should simply state the following 1. How much you want to make in a week, month and year? 2. How you will make it? For instance will you make it mowing lawns, doing landscaping installs, fertilization services or a combination of all of these? 3.What equipment are you going to need and how much will this be. Don’t forget to factor in repairs, etc. 4. How many clients will you need to be profitable and make the money you want to make? 5. Who are your ideal clients going to be? 6. Are there enough of potential lawn care clients in one area to support your business? 7. How much will your average customer be worth? 8. How will you market to your potential customers (see my video on postcards, doorhangers and the other video on killer referral systems I use) These are basically the things I would include in my plan for my lawn care business. This is not the be all end all list. Depending on how big of a business you are planning on there are other things you will want to include. For most guys, this will be enough to get you started and thinking… Patrick www.lawncare-business.com http

I’m thinking of changing of careers to univeristy professor. I have a masters degree in finance from Golden Gate university. I have an undergraduate degree from a UC. I was thinking of trying for a PHD. How important is the school I earn the PHD from in regards to finding positions? For example if I went through an accredited but online based PHD program like would that still afford me the similar opportunities? I like the convenience of online work. I guess I’m basically asking if any accredited PHD program will do the trick or if it is only highly regarded insitutions are that marketable? I’m thinking of positions with cal state schools or similar schools.
